Mr. Addison Davis in a letter to the editor of the Essex Ceunly Wash ingtouian, says that twenty six persons are now in the Insane Assvium at Diatileboro, vt, in con sequence of insanity produced by the influence of Millet ism. New Custom House. The business of the Philadelphia Custom House is now transacted in the splendid marble building, lato the United Slates Bank. The entire interior of this edifice has been painted and freshened up, the desks refitted, and the apartments of the officers fur nished with neat, handsome, and serviceable fur niture. Dr. Nelson, so well known as one of the lead. ers in the late rebellion in Canada, lias been elected to the provincial parliament. Times have changed since he was a wanderer abroad, with a price on his head. The Capital in the Banks of the United States has been reduced one hundred and eight millions of dollars in four years.
