The report which is illustrated with five plates, gives an interesting account; of those ancient ruins of that arid sec-, lion of our great southwest. The Casal (Jrande type of buildings is pruclically found only in the plains bordering the (lila. Salt and Santa cruz rivers, where,. w a have cvi-rv reason to suppose, this speeialized form of structure first arose and later reached its highest ili - velopineiit.
