Harold Bants, u son of Gideon C. llunU, as sistant treasurer of the I'nltcd States, died at a ranch in the Luna valley on last Thursday, after a brief illness with typhoid fever. At the time of tho youn.Y man's death he was visit ing his iihcle, Mr. Evans, and was acting as a forest guard. He was nine teen years of age. Word of Ihii young man's Serious Ill ness was telegraphed to. his father at Washington and the latter started for this place, but arrived too late to see his son alive: The boy had intended leaving this week for Washington to re-enter school, lie hud an excep tionally bright future before hini. After a tedious journey by wagon and automobile for 250 miles the body was brought hero and embalmed by W. M. Borrowdulc, tho undertaker, und accompanied by the futher, inoth- ! er and a brother and sister, sent to Washington for burial.
