course do not relish (his proceeding, as they bad
not calculated on this feature, and if it continues
will cause them to lake and pay for a
much larger amount of wheat than they

rumored that a strong pressure was to be brought
upon the Directors ol the Hoard of Trade to so
amend the rules governing the Inspection that (bis
feature would he cut oti,— m other words, tu rear*
ruuge l be rule* so that the mixing of a little spring
with a good deal of winter wheel would not make
the winter pa*s at spring. It would seem, how
ever, that it is a little Ute fur auy such move, only
two days of the present mouth remaining. After

existing cucumiances, the Directors would hard

Tte produce markets yesterday were generally
stronger and higher. a very fair business being
transacted In nearly all the cereals, and a moder
ate trade In provisions. The shipping demand
was good, receipts quite fair, and the general situ
ation quite satisfactory lo the majority of opera
tors on ’Change. Deports from various points la
the West denoted unsettled weather In some sec
tions, and some unfavorable news relative to the
crops was received, and this affected values favor
ably. The stocks nf at! kinds of grain nre com
paratively light, and for July delivery wheat, oats,
rye, and barley are not especially plcntv.
Dry goods were qniet. The demand at present
rarely extends beyond inch quantities and such
articles as are actually needed for the pursuance of
current trade, and the daily distributions make
only a moderate aggregate. Groceries wore in very
fair request for the time of year, and prices of
most lines again ruled Arm. Sugars are in abort
supply, In active demand, and Arm. Coffees are
receiving some attention, and are held at full

market there was a good degree of activity. Ship

In prices for some time to come. The broom-corn

seeds was again fair, ns compared wild the offer
ings, and a steady feeling existed, the offerings of
