Its his tory is almost, if not quite, without a parallel. Com mencing Ist February, 1843, (10 years ago,) without a dollar of capital except its receipts for premiums, it has now an actual cash capital which is “invested in Bonds and Mortgages on Real Estate, principally in the cities of New Yont and Brooklyn, worth double the amount loaned thereon, of over $2,000,000. Its receipts for pre miums during the past five years have been nearly $2,- 200,000, and lor interest on investment over $350,000, and has paid on policies terminated by death during the same time, nearly SBOO,OOO. Its dividends (afterreserv ing a fund sufficient to re-iustire all out-standing policies) were 52 percent the first five years, and 33 1-3 per cent, tiie last five, 011 the amount of premiums paid, being an average of over 42 1 2 per cent per annum for ten year* These dividends are udited to the policy at their rever sionary value, payable at death with the amount insur ed, or can be applied to the reduction of future premi ums, at the option of the insured. The business of the Company ia conducted strictly on the cash plan—no credits—and it is believed to hold out greater induce ments than any other coinpanv, whatever. Its rates of premium are ns low as those of any good nilice, and are believed to lie lower than some who pro fess to insure from 25 to 50 per cent less. FREDERICK S. WINSTON, Pres’t.
