N issuing this the first of our series of descriptive price lists, addressed to the consumers of this locality, we wish to briefly refer to our position, and some of our business methods, and when
I we say business methods, we do not mean unbusiness methods, for we base our entire policy on simply doing business on business principles, and in order to do this, there are two
requisites in merchandising, one being to buy right, the other to sell right. Now in regard to buying right, we can convince you in one minute that we can underbuy any firm in the State
that is not using the co-operative plan of buying: How so? Simply this: We are amember of th e Cash Buyers' Association of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana; we co-operate in
buying all the lines handled by our sixty stores; o!ur purchases run over Three Millions of Drollars annually, and we pay spot cash for every article we purchase, Do you realize what this
means? It simply means that we buy goods less than does any dealer who is not a member of the Cash Buyers' Association. We will not enlarge on this proposition, at this time, as we are satis.
fled to let you pass on it for yourself, and will only say that any man who says that we have not stated simple facts in this connection, betrays either maliciousness or ignorance,
In regard to selling goods we claim to have introduced three distinct innovations to the business world of Billings, none of the three of which have ever been dreamed of much less undertaken
to be put into practice in your locality. The first of these innovations is of some little interest to you, we take it, and if we mistake not the fairness of the people of this vicinity, will be fully ap
preciated; it consists in Selling Goods at a Reasonable Profit. The second of these innovations consists in Marking Each and Every Article in our Store In Plain Figures. The third of these
innovations consists in considering One Man's Money as Good as Another's. We know this last mentioned will be hard on the fellow who has been in the habit of getting his goods for less thain
did his neighbor. but in the name of all the saints is it not time in this city of Billings that the business men GIvEl THE NFPIHuoR A CH1ANCR? We think so-and are going to sell goods at a reason
able profit; we have all our goods marked in plain figures, and under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will we d'eviate from our marked prices. Our stock is brand new, we are here for keeps and with
your co-operation will build up a business that will be a credit to the town and a sure enough Godsend to the consumers of this vicinity.
We wish to describe at some length, and in detail, such of our lines as we think you will be most interested in, and we ask you kindly to bear in mind the numbers and prices accom
