THE ANACONDA STANDARD, WEDNESDAY MORNING, JULY to, 1891. Mrm.Lucy C. I^n. Ata meeting of the Women'* Christian^Temperance union, bold iaat evening, the^following resolution* were adopted: Wherkas,It hat seemed good to tbe Al^^mighty Disposer of eveau to remove from our^midst our late worthy and esteemed sister, Lucy^C. I'.,^render It proper that we should place on record^our appreciation of her services as a sister^worker and ber amlahlo tra'ts of charity, there^^fore lie It Htmilmt,That we tender our siucerest sym-^l^thy to her husband, mother and friends lu the^loss of aii affectionate wife, a loving duiiKhtcr^and a sincere friend, and that a copy of these^resolutions lx- placed on the mtmito book of our^union and printed In the staniiauu. Perhapsa few words in addition to tlio^resolutions adopted by the \V. C. T. V.^may not bo Inappropriate. Mrs. Manx's^joined her husband in Anaconda in early^spring, coining to our beautiful uiouatuiu^town from the prairies of Kansas. Althoughcontemplating but a short rata^Mciico iiere, as they expected to iiiak*^Georgetown their home, she almost im^^mediately identified herself with the W.^^ T. V., and proved one of its most^nctivo and efficient workers. Qui t^and unassuming in manner, she soon^won a host of friends. Shu was t.il.en^sick in Juno but for a long timo no appre^^hension was felt of a fatal termination ot^ber illness and cheerful hopes of recovery^filled the iottars that were sent bnck to^the aged mother in Kansas. But the All-^wise Father had determined otherwise^and on a beautiful Sabbath afternoon.^July lu, she fell asleep. Tuesday morn^^ing the pastors of both tbe Methodist and^and Presbyterian churches met with u^large circle of friends at tin* house to |xiy^the Inst token of lajaBejaJ and love to our^sister, over whose t|iiict heart rested tint^white ribbon, the badgo of tlio union in^w hose course she \\ as so lunch interested.^The bereaved husband retiirmsl with the^body to Kansas from whence she had M^lately come to begin lifo in our western ;^laud. The sympathy of her many friends I^here will follow him through the sad jour- '^lie;, and be Willi the sorrowing mother and^the friends there. This is the first tine^that death has visited the Anaconda W. '^('. T. V. since its organization last Kols.^ruary and it is with the deepest regret^that we are compelled to part from one^whose lifo long example of tenipcranee is^so much needed in our land.
