And so it is that outsiders wish^that they ware all Irishmen. The sight of^their happy faces on Friday was enough^to dispel a whole year of blue*. Real^shamrock, too, was comparatively plenti^^ful this year, some thoughtful friends in^Ireland having forwarded it in time to^reach here before the day that was cele^^brated. Missoii.a, March In.^Society in tho^Garden City made a little spurt this week^and braved the consequences of openly^engaging in a dancing party in the middle^of Lent, but then there was a good and^sufficient oxcuso for this desperate under^^taking, for two of the most charming of^tho many young ladies who have graced^the Vnivesity City with their presence dur^^ing the past winter are about to take their^departure for their homes in the far East,^and Missoula's reputation for hospitality^had to be sustained, no matter at what^coat. It was shocking and, undoubtedly,^very, very wicked, but the application of^another handful of ashes and a more^faithful devotio.i to the proverbial sack^^cloth during the remainder of the 40 days^will probably square matters for these en^^thusiastic voung people. The diversion^referred to was a cotillion given by the^Vivant club, Missoula's s^ el lest social^organisation, on Tuesday evening, and^which, by tho way, was announced as the^last function of the kind lobe given under^the auspices of this club.
