THE OFFICIAL PROGRAMME interestingReading for Turfmen^and Admirers of Sport on the^Oval-Some of the Best of^'Em In Training. Theprogramme for the races, the^great events of next month, was pre^^pared yesterday and Is given below. It^comprises as tine a line of purses us^horsemen could desire or the public^wish. The sum of 115,000 will be dis^^tributed among the winners In the^races already announced, and $o,U00 Is^reserved for special purses. Theseare busy days at the race track^where about GO horses are now in ac^^tive training, and the list Is being in^^creased daily. A special train started^from Portland, yesterday, bringing the^best stock from the mooting in that^city. On this train there will bo Tom^McTague's stable of 12 or 11 horses.^Higglna Bros.' string, which Is equally^large. P. McAvoy is coming with tlw^or six fast ones, among them PrlncI^Almont. J.W. Nelson's horsey, among them^fleorge Ayers. will be here. J. S. Car-^rlgan is coming with Dr. Puff, last^year's 11-year-old champion, and Hal^Oorbett. There are also on this train,^frrm all accounts, severnl California,^Washington and Oregon stables. SenatorHoffman's horses trotters and^pacers will be brought over from Bozc-^man In a few days. Fourhead Of gallopers came In yes^^terday from Lewlston, Idaho. They are^on James Dempsey's list and are all^good ones. Somuch for the arrivals. There are^now at the track as was said, about^half a hundred horses In training.^Sam Handley has 13 head of pacers^and trotters. The best known among^them perhaps are Hilly 1^. with a rec^^ord of 2:2H4; Bud L., who makes it in^2:21%; Ruby Messenger, a pacer, at^2:2314; then beside he has three or^four f.IIy trotters and pacers, and the^balance are 2-year-olds. TrainerHilly Singleton has a bunc h^of four or more gallopers, of whom the^star Is Minnie. Willie E.^R. P.^Bunch's flyer, is another one. GeorgeParrott Is working Red Leo^and Baby P. regularly. Carnot.(linger and two others are^In eare of Charles Bynum. CharlesChadduck has three or four^horses. JoeCraln of Hamilton, has Granger^alias Bitter Root Bill. JohnJacobs is taking pride in the^work of Sitka and promises a surprise^for everyone when the little mare starts^In a race. HenryWilliams put the 16 blue-^blooded horses from the Bitter Root in^quarters and all seemed perfectly at^home there yesterday. Thehorsemen are not the only busy^ones. The track has been harrowed^and rolled Into perfect condition till ex^^perts who view it with critics' eyes^inn find no fault In It. Stableshave been newly lined wher^^ever there waB the slightest demand for^such repair. Two more lire plugs have^been set and now all buildings and^stables are easily reached by hose and^water. Nothingwill be omitted which can^be of service to the convenience or pro^^tection of the visitors, and as for^their amusement, they can best Judge^for themselves by the programme given^below.
