With the^Initiative Htep taken other sections of^the northern part of the stale promise^to do likewise and while tach will he^iinh i^endent of the sectional and state^ass.ii unions all will he hctd as aux^^iliaries. The Havre Eagle lias the fol^^lowing to say of the new association: Ashas lieen talked of for some time^by the smaller storkmen In the county^an organization has at last Ween per^^fected under the name of the Ranch-^era' Stock association. The meet inn^was held recently and was attended by^nearly every rant her In the Hear I'ait^i ountry. and starts out with a good^showing and a reasonably large num^^ber of members. The object of the as^^sociation will be to protect t he stock^Interest of Its members and It a mu^^tual association. Alex ('. Ross was^chosen chairman of the association and^Fred H. Scott secretary and treasurer.^By-laws were adopted and an execu^^tive committee composed of Stephen^Boyee. John C, (Jrlmn. James Berry,^Frank McCaddery. Merritt Flannagan,^K. K. Lawler and Rudolph Harris was^appointed to look after the Interests of^the association, while a private com^^mittee composed of Stephen Boyee,^Rudolph Harris and Alex C. Ross will^look after the permanent interest. A^system of working was talked of and^It Is the Intention of those who ure In^^strumental In its organization to see^for each stockman to look after his^brother member's slock, and when In^feeding season n stray animal the^owner shall be notified within five days^and If not called for by its owner he^shall be assessed 15 cents per day for^its keeping. It Is Intended to make the^association an entirely mutual organ^^ization and its workings will ht watch^^ed by its Instigators with no little In^^terest.
