Tips on Touring ■■■■■■■■■■ By Carol lanPaManai Women's Travel Authority y Winter Starring Tips Let’s say it takes three cups of coffee to get j/on started on a cold morning and you’ve been inside all night. What does it take to atari the family car that’s spent the night outside or in an un he; ted garage? Here are a few warm tips. ■ 'Xjl fZ^j Don’t try to start with all the electrical a< cexsories turned on. 3 hey put an additional drain on the battery. Don’t "grind” the starter. Even half a minute of this can drain a new battery. If the engine doesn’t start fust, turn off the ignition and wait a minute before trying again. Don’t pump the gats pedal. This only floods the engine. Push the ac celerator to the floor once, let it up half way ami engage the starter. Be sure your car is ready for cold weather. That means anti freeze, the right grade oil, and a fully-charged battery. And this idea from motorists in really cold climates: If the car’s outside or in an unheated garage, leave a lighted lamp bulb under thu hood during the night. It gives enough heat to help ease starting. SAVE ME .... lam your FEBRUARY Program! IF OIK TIHIEATI^E ST. IGNATIUS, MONTANA MOVIES Are Your best entertainment! SUN. MON.
