Stringfellow has a ,force of men at work this week on the addi tion to his store which will be extend ed to the alley. C. M. Johnson and estimable family .depart .for St. Paul, Minn., this ev ening, where Mr. Johnson has been ~ssigned to a position ht the Great_ Northern shops as general machine foreman. C. H. Spengler will succeed Mr. Johnson as foreman of the shops here. Last evening Mr. Johnson and faim ily were somewhat surprised when their home was taken possession of by about forty of their friends from the shops, who came to pay them a fare well visit. A mandolin orchestra was brought into play and the time was sociably passed and wound up with a "smoker." Mr. Johnson has been prominent among society circles here and his departure is regretted by all. A MUSICAL EVENT. Chas. J. Kops, of Great Falls, will give a piano recital at "The Fair" next Saturday evening, commencing at 7:30 o'clock, to which all are invit ed. It is seldom Havre is offered such a treat of this nature and if this event proves a pronounced success "The Fair" will continue to give free concerts every Saturday evening. Gourley Bros. now have their new bakery and confectionery store in or der. While their new stock will be materially increased within the next few days, it would be hard to add to the brightness of the new store at the present time. A dancing club will be organized at McIntyre's hall, next; Tuesday even ing for the purpose of giving weekly dances throughout the winter, and it is the desire of the organisers to have as many of Iavre's dancers present as possible.
