The results are disappointing to some people, but quite satisfac tory to those who were victorious at the polls. With the candidates’ pre occupation with mudshng ing and character assassi nation, there was not much timefor them to discuss the important issues of the day. The community returns to normal after several hectic weeks. We hope it will not settle down lo complacency. ,Althouih t b ere was muchin the campaign to deplore, there was also much that could be applauded. For the first time certain seg ments of the %Opulation which held themselves aloof from public affairs came out en masse to &articipate in the election, ot only did they votein large numbers, but they also got the courage to come out as candidates. Let us hope that this inter est will continue. The thing to do is not to wait until an other electior rolls around to show interest. Candidates with similar interests and views shou d maintain their interest by forming political groups and checking on the activities of each other. Getting excited and interested for a few weeks every two years is not enough.
