ed from the Royal Consul General
in Caracas the Government of the
United States of Venezuela have by
a decree of 14th instant entirely raised
the Blockade of the mouths of the
Orinoco river etc. ete. specified in
the publication from the undersigned
office of 3rd November last.

the 4th of January next wijl be placed in
the hands of an Attorney for collection, as
I intend leaving the Island very shortly.

NOTICE.
JTAHE lorse.- Carriage,- an'd Boat-Taxes
E for the Ist half-year 1865 “vill be re
ceived a! this office and by the Police-As
sistant at Fredcriksted from the 14/ Jun
uary to the 4th February next, both days
included, after which the lists of arrears
will be transmitted to the respective Po
licemasters to be enforced within 8 days,
and a special citation to this effect will
without delay be served by the Police,
for whiech each debtor of taxes incurs a
fine of 20 Cents it the tax be under 85,
and 40 Cents if $5, or above, besides even
- tually the ordinary levy-cxpeunses.
The tax-lists, which will be distributed
by the Police, are to be filled up in con
firmity with the Ordinance of 22nd Febru
ary 1859, on the 1s! January and returned
to the respective Policemasters within 48
hours in town and within 4 days in the coun
iry. : . : :
