Occa sionally. the Pope journeys ouiside the gates of the Vatiecan City to make a visit to his farm a few miles beyond the hills ¢cf Rome, but that trip takes only a few hours at the most. Except for the farm visits the farthest the Pope drives within the Vatican City is two miles comprising a complete circuit of the Vatican Gardens. The Pope likes to ride with the top down. The automobiles are of italian, French, German and American origin and of them all the Holy Father prefers the one which came from across the Atlantic. Ihis opne he uses four days in the week. His chauffeur Politi’s duties are strict ly concerned with the driving end of the cars, for the Pope has a mechanic who sees to the care of the motors. —Sel.
