With the closing of the National Bank in July St. Croix would be im a despe rate situation. The Agricultural Experiment Station is prepared to plant about fifty acres in a new variety of sugar cane de veloped at the Station. This variety is supposed to have a high sucrose content and.to have greater jresistance against drought than the older varieties.
