Roosevelt’s Birthday In line with the p2odle of the United States, St. Croix is preparing to cele brate on Jan. 30th the birthday of the great Franklin Roosevelt—our President, Lieutenant Governor Cramer, tne Chairman of the Colonial Council,- Ar nold M. Golden and other members of Council, representatives of the press, leaders of the Municipal Bands and principals of the publie schools met at the Government Building last night to decide on a program for the occasion A governing committee was elected. and also several suti-committees. A tentative program was arranced, including a grand parade in Frederik sted in the morning and a grand parade in Christiansted in the afternoon The address of the day will be delivered in both places by the Chairman of th2 Colo nial Council. There will be aquatic and other spogts, Prizes will be awarded for the best -dressed masquerade and for the winners iu cerwain events. \ : A mass meeting will be heldin the Christiansted Theatre at 4.30 p m. to morrow when the details of the program will be explained to the citizens. ’ Mrs. 0 Day T , On the verge of celebrating the birth day of President Roosevelt, a wora about the First Lady of the Nation, Mrs. Roosevelt would not be amise. Roosevelt in her Inauguril gown. Mrs. Roosevelt until recently was one of the inost ac tive members of Mrs. O’Duy’s commit tee.
