Louchery, of Salem, has actually disposed of his ele gant property in that town for 19,000, and it is rumored that after the doctor has taken a special post-graduate course at an eastern-medical school,he will lo cate in Clarksburg. Hart, has had the title of Mem ber of Honor, with the award of the first class diploma and gold Jiedal, conferred upon him by the Inventor's and Mechanic's Academy, Paris, France, on his patent riding saddle.?Webster Echo. Len McAtee and two of the other McAtees were arrested for raising a distubance in town last Saturday night. The McAtee boys, it appears, thought that the town was becoming monoto nous. and in order to make things more active they went to the house where John Watson re sides and preceded to cut, pum mel and disfigure the mortal anatomy of Mr. Watson so as to temporarily incapacitate him from performing his function as an American citizen. Remember that typhoid fever is not apt to attack a person in good health. The Telegram advises the residents of the city to be-careful. Do not drink im pure water or sleep in a room badly ventilated. Take exer cise, keep the bowels regular and remember that "cleanliness is next to godliness." Be sure to have your out-buildiugs, stables, iSjc., thoroughly reno vated. If you suspect impurities in the water you use, it would be best to boil it. Throw plenty of lime about the sewers and sinks. Cincinnati express. Clar ence Davis, of this city, a travel ing salesman, was on the wreck ed train, and says it was caused by a broken rail. One rail was driven fully 300 feet in front of the engine by being struck by one of the drive-wheels. No trains were able to pass until a late hour on the following day. R.R.Powell. | | JOIl.N It KIIKUT IIE.il). Mr. John R. Ebert died this, morning at 8:45 at his residence I ou Sand Road, a short distance I above this city. His death was caused by appo I lexy. ? I or several weeks Mr. Ebert I hail been unwell and was confined I to the house part of the time. Cut his death was entirely un expected and was a great shock to the family and the entire com munity. Mr. Ebert was one of the most prominent citizens of this com munity, Ho was between 55 and 'SO years of age, and had lived a dumber of years here and. was very successful and acquired con siderable property. Back in the sixties be was a member of the firm of Gifillan, Ebert & Co.. wholesale grocers. After the firm disolved he became mail agent on the B. & O. to Grafton. I and he had that run for a number I of years. He retired from that and turned I his attention to real estate and I numerous other enterprises, I His business interests in the I city made hun prominent among I our monied men. He was a val- I uod director of the Traders I j Building Association. Personally Mr. Ebert was a I man of great vigor and rugged I I j force, and possessed niynerous I j good qualities that won for -him I the testeem of all who had rela- I I s lions with him.
