Mrs. J. L. Huffman started Tuesday morning for Upshur Co. ] to visit her sister, Mrs. T. M. Bond. "Old father" Leo is still very low, and it was s touching scene when ho bid farewell to his wife who had been a faithful watcher at his bedside during the first of his sickness. She died on the 4th, after a brief illness, and wao intered near Bridgeport on the 6 th. Bertice Ogden, of Prospect, one of Harrison county's most promising young men, died on the 7th. His remains were fol lowed to the Shinnston cemetery by a large procession of sorrow ing friends. Robert Sprout, of this place is dangerously ill. Rev. Stuart has engaged with the artistic painter of your city, Mr. Butters, to learn house painting. Mr. John Lancaster is building a very handsome residence for John Tyson. One of our boys went courting not long since and when he left, the night being very dark, made a mistake and got the old gent's saddle.
