Va. riage left a cheap in Calvert street GreeiimouBt Cemetery < day, where, without any religious, 'ceremony, the body of a young woman who was once a Kentucky belle, and the wife of a rich Spanish gentleman, was placed in a vault. The lady was MA. Louise R. Verastejal. who' had died on the day before. The. utmost' secrecy was observed, and even now the lady's maiden name is not known. She was a Southern girl of great, beauty, who' went to New York in 1880. where she met Alfredo Verastejui, who was making a tour of this countiy. He fell in love with and married the beauty, whom he took on an extensive tour abroad, returning in 1890 to New York. Mr. Ve rpetejui gave signs of breaking down, and on his physician's ad vice to go to the country, pur chased a beautiful home at Catonsville, on the outskirts of this city. Subsequently the husband dis covered that his wife's* relations with the coachman were not con sistent with her duties to her husband and secured a divorce. He was still in love with her, however, and leaving the country for Cuba sent her remittances un* til he learned that she was living with the coachman. Then the remittances ceased and the wife's revenue consisted of money raised on her jewels, of which she had a large quantity. When she became ill three months ago her. husband came to Baltimore and secured nurses to attend her, but did nothing him self. The nurses and coachman were with her when she died and were the only mourners 'at her funeral. The body now awaits the result of an advertisement inserted in Southern papers ask ing her relatives to claim it. The jewels still remaining, which are valued at $30,000, are locked in a box at the Safe Deposit Com pany, awaiting legal adminlstra tioil.?N. ! m ; mRMniDH OF PIRTHE?8Hil.
