The lot sale by the Clarksburg Indus trial company Tuesday afternoon was successful in every way and perfectly satisfactory to the company. It was merely the opening sale, and tlic fact between 00 and 00 lots were sold at the prices placcd on the property by the company is all that the directors desired, but the main object of the sale was ac 1 complished. That object was arrange 1 ments for the erection of several houses on the property. There is assurance i that this has been accomplished from the fact that a dozen purchasers, mostly out-of-town people, consulted local con tractors with that end in view. It Is expected that that number of houses will be built at once.. There was some disappointment that there was no auc tion sale, but the company had no. de sire to get up any excitement, and, there fore, conducted the sale on a strictly bus iness basis. The sale occurred in an of fice of the window glass plant on the grounds. A11 the strangers in the city and all who had not seen the property expressed themselves as greatly delight ed with it, and these impressions will re sult in the disposal of many more lota *t an early date. She lota unsold will remain on the market for thirty days at the prices already fived by the com pany, alter which it will be optional with the board of directors to withdraw them from the market or raise the prices.
