The foreign miners and their wives at Columbia mines have been having considerable difficulty in keeping th? peace there for the lasx several days. Tuesday evening a crowd of them came np to Magis trate Gordon's court- to' have two more eases tried, following a simi lar expedition of the day before. This timfFiorlan Stopek was charg ed with ibelng drunk and disorderly at Columbia last Sunday by Charles Jurcak. F'orlan was tried, fonnd guilty and fined }1 and costs which he paid. Stopek swore out a war rant against Charley's wife charg Ing'her with assault and battery and ' she was fined 15 and costs which f .her husband paid. Benson's Concert Company ap peared before an assemblage of rep resentative people at the Christian church last night. The latter were highly pleased with the program and its rendition, every member of the company being an accomplished musician. They were repeatedly and most heartily applauded and en cores were indulged in. This Is among rhe best concert companies of the day and their visit here will lie cherished by all who heard them In such a rare musical treat The band was cordially responsive with encore numbers, and the whole proved a musical entertainment of a high order, which thoroughly de lighted. iunv nor dies. Argel ? Tulte* Mr. and Mrs. Davis's Son, Clay, Away. Many sympathize with Mr. apd Mm. B. S. Davis over the death of their baby boy, who died at the Davis home at the county infirmary, of which Mr. Davis is superintend ent. at 5:15 o'clock Wednesday morning after an illness of Beveral weeks of stomach trouble. The boy's name was S. Clay Davis and he was born August 2G last. The funeral will take place tomorrow at 12 o'clock at Bethel church at Good Hope and interment will be in the Masonic cemetery there.
