A self-confessed postofHce burglar
was lodged In the county jail Mon
day morning. The gooda were
fnur.d on him and there waB no way
for him to deny his guilt. He gives
nls name as John D. Garrison, aged
GO, and says his home Is In Toledo,
Ohio.
The postofHce at West Union was
burglarized about 3 o'clock Satur
day morning. The burglnry was dis
covered an hour ltaer and at G
o'clock a posse headed by Postmas
ter W. n. Drown and Deputy United
Stall's Marshal W. D. Brown captur
ed the burglar.
The burglat^entered the Ringer
building. In whfch 1b the postofllco.

removing the lockfcn the sash. He
proceeded to blow?he safe and took

At 4 o'clock fto burglary was dis
covered and of posse was hurriedly
farmed. The previous rain enabled
th? searchers to track to the glass
plant east of the town and he was
chased through the river. Gaining
the opposite side, he crawled through
th? high grass In a meadow and hid
under a house, where the posse cap
tured him.
A search of his person resulted In
the recovery of all the stolen goods.
He was taken Into custody, and
Monday morning brought here by
United States Deputy Marshals
Brown and Hupp, who took him be
fore United States Commissioner

The swing was suspended from

cellar which Is partly above ground
and the child was playing In It alone

his mother crying and Mrs. Cllne
ran to the-- spot finding her child
dead. A deep black and blue mark
about the child's neck showed how
It came to Its death.
