Kditobs Iu your paper of the 13th you speak of the opposi tion (to tha proposed additional track i on Water street) by the property own ere on the north side of said itreet. So far I have no remarks to make. But whan yon state that the property own ers on the south side of said street, as being the only ones benefited by wid ening the street, you make a great mistake, as there was no property beneK'.ted north or south by the widen ing, much les.i the south side. It is true the city paid (or land taken for that purpose, had the north side fur nished laud they would hare beeD paid for it likewise. The traok on the loath is equally oloae to the ourb and building line; bo far the north and south side are on eqnal footing; neither side Bold their right to a front, (with a free and nn Obstructed use of Water street) tbat right they are most oertainly deprived of, and witbeut any compensation, pie liming that all have equal rights on the public highway iu front of their pioperty. But the damage to property owners an the sonth side gees a step farther, and especially between Shipley and Orange street, there the city by erdinace has granted the bed of Water street to he a R. R. site for a trelgbt depot, within a few feet of the building hue, where oars and teams oocupy the street constantly, loading and disohaiging freight, thus catting off all comumnioatiou with prop erty sonth of It. This state of affairs is continued, against all remonstrance, in oonsequenoe of which owners of prop erty derive no income from it. Thns private interests are eet at naught by the city authorities, which must end ultimately iu a round bill of damages against the ofty- As an additional grievance on the Suutb side, there is a constant of shifting cars frequently oc cupying the foutway or crossing, amounting to hours in the course of the day, so that persons cannot cross the street to business places on the south side and return, the unscrupu lous char act -r of this company renders individual rights and private property alike unsafe, from their encroachments, which fact iawell known and condemned by public opinion. The Railroad oompanies undoubtedly have the exclusive use of Water street, aud the question must sooner or later be settled, whether property owners on said street can tie deprived of their valuable front on Water etreet witbent U. Loxxox, March 23.—The London "Times" this morning Bays: Parnell's determination that the ad vanced Home Rulers shall put forward new candidates in a number of constit uencies to oppose the moderate Home Rulers or Liberals who decline the Home Rule pledges has thrown Irish politics into a state of confusion whioh may benefit the Conservatives. This is in striking contrast with the disci pline and method of tbe contest in Scotland, where the Liberals, avoiding the jealousies and schemes which lost them many seats in 1874, are attacking their opponents boldly and at every point. The organization of the Conser vatives is even more complete than that of the Liberals, bat their spirits evidently are not by any means so high." Mr. Imyrna'i Nunda) fichoal.
