PUBLIC 8ALB OF VALUABLE LANDS IS BERKELEY COUNTY, VIRGINIA PURSUANT to a decree of the Supe rtor Court of Law and Chancery, for Berkeley county, pronounced 6th of Octo tier, 1835, in a suit in chancery, in which David Hensel and Nancy Lis wife, late Nancy C. Miller, and Samuel Chenowelh and Mary his wife, late Mary Miller, are plaintiffs, versus, Smitji Miller and Karri son Waite, Administrators De Bonis JYon, of George Miller, dec’d, of Hester Miller, dec’ll, and of James Miller, dec’d, Sarah Miller, and others, defendants,— the un dersigned Commissioners, named by said decree, will. On the 8th Jay of February, 1830, Being the first day of February Court, fur the county of Beikeley, expose to sale at the Court House, in the town of Martins burg, the several tracts or parcels of land, referred to in the proceedings in said suil and herein described. The land to be ■old according to said decree, for one third cash, the balance in two equal pay nicnts of one and two years, with interest from the day of sale, until payment—the purchaser, or purchasers, to give bond and security and a deed of trust on iha land to secure the deferred payments. I The place called the Home Place. containing about THREE HUNDRED AND THIRTY THREE ACRES of land. This is the tract of land on which Smith Miller now lives,adjoining the lands' ol Rob’t VV. Lyle, Philip C. Cheiioweth’a] heirs, and others There is on this land a comfortable Dwelling House, a good Barn, and other Out Buildings. 2. The place called Ihe Faulkner Place, containing about TIVEN'I It SE VEN ACRES. Mrs. Sarah Miller, the widow of William D. Miller, dec’d, now lives on this land. It adjoins the lands of William Campbell, and on the head wa ters of Middle Creek. There is on this place a comfoi table Duelling House, a good Barn, &c. 3. The place ealled the Thornburg Place, containing about FOURTEEN ACRES. There is on this land a small Dwelling House, and Blacksmith Shop, and is said to be a good situation for a Black smith: adjoins the lands of Philip C. Chenowcth’s heirs, and others. 4. The place called theM‘GniEN Place containing about TWENTY til E A CUES, on the waters of Mill Creek, ad joining the lands of Robert Daniel, Me Kown. Reese, &c. 5. The place called the Mill Place, containing about FIFTY ACRES, tins land lies on the Opequon, about 3 miles from Martinsburg—on which there was formerly a valuable merchant mill, which was consumed by fire i the scite is said to be very valuable for any kind of water works, having the advantage of the whole water of the Opequon There is a com fortable Dwtlling House, and souio other buildings on this land. And 6. About FIFTEEN ACRES of land called the Lyle Place. This land is all in timber, and said to be very good ; and adjoins the lands of \\ in. Lyle and others The said several tracts will be put up to public sale, separately. The Coinmis •toners have stated the number of acres according to the deeds, and the Co.nmis sioner’s books—they will he sold as con taining the quantity stated—hut wiihout any guarantee of quantity,—the sale to be in the gross. September 9, 1835 —tl ANSI AND JUXXx FOR SALE. HAVING sold a part of my estate near Marlmsburg. Berkeley County, Va. I wish to dispose of the residue, consisting of the Mill tract of about 3 40 ACRES, and the Oak Kidge tract of ISO Acres— lands equal in quality to any in the state. Upon the Mdl tract there are upwards of one hundred acres of first rate bottom land, and about 'he tame quantity of cleared upland, the balance in limber.— The Mill house is a substantialstone build ing, one hundred feet by forty, in which three pair of Burrs and one of Country Slones are worked by the Tuscarora creek, one of the best andmo&t permanent mill streams in the country. The dwelling house, also of stone, is a large convenient well finished building,' divided into fourteen rooms, besides a passage of 13 feet width through its centre. There are barns, stables and other out houses in abundance, all good and conve* nient. The Oak Ridge tract is 94 miles distant from the Mill tract, about one half of it covered with timber ol the finest quality, the balsnee cleared, well fenced, and in a high stale of cultivation.
