Hrrint-.e woM tie "TtL.li V, avc" made by fcmith. R:ing v t. Tni OkliT Sale Go to the great cluing out' Lovett's Wilrt. ; Some two Tears aeo Mr. Lovett came to tUSs city and eponed a shirt factory. Croakers said "he never can make it pay," "we can't support It," &c, Ac, but his present standing anion us shows that croakers arc but poor prophets. Dur ifltf this short time, by bis Industry, close htten. tion to tho needs of his customers, and prompt ness ia fulfilling; engagements, he has built up a reputation second to nonr. Ills shirts are worn all over this eounty, the people having soon found out that they ore perfectly made of the best material, and Invariably tit, for besides em- ploying the best aid he can procure he is him self an excellent cutter and both works him self and superintends personally all work done bv his aids. Give him a call wo mean those who have never been thore his old cmstoniers needing no second invitation. Still Another Criifh. You see the fact is II. J. Gillen has the lartxt stwk nf Ory noods of all kind and qualities to be found in the city. Times are hard for many of his customers; invoicing time la coming round, and to facilitate Invoicing, and to benefit his patrons he now offers his entire mammoth stock ut u really reduced price fur the next thirl; dayi. Remember this is not s sale of a broken stock, where the chelce of goods Is confined to a half dozen pieces, but a genuine sale of a full nd complete stock bought of the best eastern impor ters and manufacturers at the lowest cash prices. Gillen's stock never was larger than it now is nor bis prices lower, and this further reraarka- blo reductions shows that Gillen means to be of uh to his patrons in these precarious times. A Card, To tub Ladies op Ottawa and slrroundixo Coijntkt. I tender my sincere thanks for the liberal patronage bestowed upon me during the past year a continuance of which I trust they will fuvor me with in the future. A year ago my store and stock was destroyed by lire, causing me to seek other rjHarters. I wub fortunate in securing as pleasant a stare and supply In a more convenient location. With the liberal patronage which I have re ceived, and notwithstanding all my difficulties, free to state that my establishment is the only jirst da millinery store In Ottawa, keeping as I do an exclusive millinery stock of good. In the future my aim shall be to please and give my customers satisfaction and furnish tbcin at all times with the very latest styles and fashions. Mits. O'Mkara. Auction Prices. The surgeons of the International Surgical In stitute will visit this city on tbe -1th and Cth of January, 1370, and can be consulted at tho Clif ton Ilotel. Says a reporter from one of the leading news papers of this country: I have often heard of tbe " international Surgical Institute;" so often iliat 1 concluded to visit it, and see what I could learn for tne benefit of our readers. Their ma chinery and mechanical appliances for the treatment of paralysis and deformities arc truly wonderful, and something I am safe in saying h.is never been seen by any one not having been through this Institute. Their shops for the man ufacturing of braces and apparatus are gigantic :ind something not dreamed of by those never interested. Considerable talk is being made over a hat styled Florentine. As I stated in previous ad vertisements, that individual hut is not a iiev ttylt, though a very pretty one. I bought them in French felts, late last August, and am now the onlt, one that has them in felts. The fashion re ports, that is, the leading publication of the I. n. The Milliner, has not mentioned the Floren tine since last September. Like many other styles, it is easy for the city dealer to ull the country milliner that does not keep posted or buy eoods enough to really know what is fash ionable, and they in turn, try it on their cuto- mers. I am selling all thtttylen, and chief amoug them, the Vampire Qtiem, a beautiful, cream, French felt, only one O'lar and fifty cents, other styles Freneh felt for one dollar to one and a quarter.
