For many years It bus been the practice of the county IJoard to cover any failure of the annual revenues to meet current ex penses and appropriations of the lloard by issuing notes signed by the chairman ot the Itoard and the county treasurer, to whomsoever would advance upon them, the money as it was required. The Board exercising this asMimed right tf borrowing money for there la no pretense of legality about it-has neglected for years many to levy eutflclent revenues to pay expenses The reeult was that at the last Septem ber session of the county Board the finance committee repo-ted that It was advisable and oecesNirv to submit to the electors of the county tbe question of bonding the county f.-r $75,000. This was made npces sary to gve, If possible, a legal standing to the detklt which the committee then re ported to be In excess of (bat amount. The report of the committee was adopted. The proposition w submitted, anil the au thivlty to borrow the amount of $75,000, vhtoh via to oe applied in funding the present fttwtlng Indebtedness, was glveu to the present Board of Supervisors.
