he is hereby authorized, to charge and collect
the following fees, to-wit: For all engineering
work done on any street ordered graded, ma
cadamised or improved, when levels and esti
mutes are necessary for such improvements,
he snail have from each lot ten cents per run
ning foot ior the first fifty feet; eight cents per
running foot for any additional numb r of
feet up lo one hundred f et ; six cents per run
ning aiot for any additional number of feet
above one hundred ieet and less than two hun

gravel shall be spread, the whole to be wetted

The streei shall have gutters of hard granite
cobble stones, as far as First street. These gut
ters shall be live fact wide, and commence ten
Inches below the top of the sidewalk, and
shall conform to the plan and grade of tho
stieet. The street shall have side slope to
wards the gutters of one foot in thirty.

"VTOTICE IS II EKE BY GIVEN THAT
_i.ll the city of Los Angeles intends to make
Uie following improvements on Commercial
street, tram Us Intersection with Main street
to Alameda streei. Said Commercial stieet is
to be graded aud constructed in lhe following
manner, to wit: The sidewalk to be seven
feet wide, and made of wood. Tho curbing
shall be of redwood scantling 3x12 inches.
Tins curbing shall be spiked to posts 4x4
Inches square, set two feet in the ground, on
the inside of the curbing, and six feet apart,
the covering of the sidewalk shall be two
inch plank, or one-Inch plank doubled.
The gutters shall he four feet' wide, and
paved Willi haul cobble-stone. Thesurlaee
ofthe gutter shall be ten inches below the
top of the sidewalk, and shall rise toward tlie
center of the street with a slope of one Inch to
