V A most valuable East India Medicine for the cure of the Hlvfcumftttsin, Utaumatic, (tout, &c. Extract of a Letter from the Rev. James English, dated Bengal, to hit friend Dr. F. Bedweli, in London. “Dear Sir—Agreeable to your request I have with difficulty procured and now send you by the ship Jason, Capt. Robertson, a few pounds of Foladelphis, or what generally goes by the name of India Extract, medicine uni versally esteemed among the people of India, for the cure of Rheumatism. Was I to infoim you of the number of people who are daily re lieved and cured by this valuable remedy, it would require move paper than I am able to purchase, and more time than 1 am able to be sthw. Indeed, the effect of this Medicine is so immediate, that in Rheumatism you would in sonic cases suppose it acted almost like a charm in removing that painful disease. The difficulty, however in procuring the Extract, will, for many years, retard its general circu lation. It being- obtained from a Shrub grow, ing on the Mountains ofTibet, in the Berman Empire of India, and held in so much repute by the Natives, that to part with it, is like part, ing with their existence.” 'The usual mode of taking it is in the form of Fills. 1 shall use all my endeavors to send you a constant sun* ply- ’ Since .the proprietor has received the above Medicine, he lias put it up in boxes made for the purpose, containing sixty pills, with a bill of directions and a certificate of its being gen uine, eigned in bis own hand writing—and iii order to show its vast importance, has thought proper to submit for public inspection, a few out of a vast number of Certificates from peo ple who have been cured by it in Europe and America. letter to dr. bedwill, mrrn London, Jan. 7, 1823. Dear Doctor—1 have been violently affect ed with a Rheumatic complaint for many yeura; even my fingers were so contracted i could neither dresa nor undress myself, or give the least assistance to my family—I have only used two boxes of the Extract, and 1 am perfectly restored. Your obedient servant,, J. WELSH. FROM TOBIASJERRIR, STEWART OF ST THOMAS HOSPITAL, London, Feb. 10/A, 1823. I made trial of the India Extract ac cording to the instructions, and I am rejoiced to say, it lias proved a perfect cure. LETTERS TO MT AOERT IR AMERICA. Richmond, Virginia, May 2d, 1824. Dear Sir—It becomes me at this time, to express to God my gratitude for the means he had made use of, in restoring my Jong lost health, by the use of a medicine called Pola delphis or India Extract. For the last five years I have been so grievously afflicted with Rheumatism, that I have at times almost wished for death to relieve me from my suffering seeing this medicine advertised, I sent for a box, and 1 do declare, that since 1 have began to use it I have never felt a pain, and am sure that bv continuing to use it for a short time, 1 shall again enjoy my usual health, and be able to support my family, as heretofore. In closed, I send you three dollars, for two box es, which you will please to pack up carefully, and Mr. Bcmey will bring it safe to me.
