THERE is perhaps no medical obsenaf»°* better established, none more gent rally :onfirmcd by the experience of the best pity si :ian» of all ages and countries, ano none of nore importance to the human family. he fact that -f — “msi uuuvdh and ncurable consumptions originate in neglect* sd colds. In a climate so variable as ours, nrhere the changes of the weather are fre quently sudden and unexpected, it — more care and - ^|tnl lh£ enemy of life, than most people imagine, or are able and willing *n bestow.— The bills of mortality exhibit the melancholy fart that the proportion of deaths by this dis ease may be considered as about five to one. Inasmuch then as this fatal disease bids defi ance to the skill of the most learned physicians, it is a gratification to the proprietor that he is enabled to offer to those afflicted with it a goodly prospect of relief, in that highly valu able remedy the vegetable Indian Specific.— The Indians are happy in their knowledge of medical plants; governed wholly by experi ence, they are certain as to their effect, and it is said by an author of great character, that* true consumption is a disease never known a mongst them. Fur the information of those afflicted with complaints of the breast and lungs, the pro prietor inserts (from among the numerous testimonials in lus possession) the following Certificate: Baltimore, 7th Dec. 1824. I, W. Price, of the city of Baltimore, do hereby certify and declare, that 1 was for a long time afflicted" with a severe cold, accompanied with an almost incessant cough, and pain in my breast and lungs; also, spitting of bloodt and purulent matter from the lungs, with night sweats and fevers, and was much emaciated with loss of appetite, rest &c. I applied to se veral eminent physicians, and passed through a course of medicine, but could obtain no re lief, and found myself fast verging on to a con firmed consumption. Havingat length heard of the many astonishing cures effected by the Vegetable Indian Specific, I was induced to make trial of it, anu found almost immediate relief, and my rest restored, I continued its use, improving fast, my appetite better, and all the symptoms of the disease daily diminish ing, and in a few weeks was completely cur ed, and have remained so for several months, and am now in better health and flesh titan 1 have been for many years. I therefore with confidence, recommend the use of the Veg§. table Indian Specific to all who suffer under a similar complaint, and as a safe, pleasant and effectual remedy for consumption, ami all dis eases of the breast and lungs. W. PRICE. The celebrated Dr. Cullen has taught ux that "our first attention should be employed in watching the approach of the disease and preventing its proceeding to a*, incurable state; and in persons of a consumptive habit, especially those born of consumptive parents, the slightest symptoms of an approaching con sumption at the consumptive period of life, ought carefully to be attended to.” This Specific is obtained by extraction from herbs, roots, flowers, plants, Sec. when in per fection. In eonsenuence of a happy combina tion of the moat valuable herbs, See. it becomes a balsam of superior value. It heals the injur* ed parts, opens the pores and composes th« disturbed nerves after the manner cf an ano dyne; consequently the obstruction of the chest and the lungs whieh constitute this dis ease, particularly need its use. It promotes expectoration, which is constantly called for* and whilst it cleanses and heals, it also give* strength to the tender lungs. In this manner it removes the hectic fever, improves diges- 0 tion, gives strength to the nerves, repairs the appetite and improves the spirits. This spe cific may always be given in safety—it is mild, pleasant to the taste, and may safely bo given to infants, for which it is of inestimable value. It affords relief in bowel complaints, teething, whooping coughs, &c. and is found particular ly useful in hypochondrical, nervous and hys terical disease*. Each bill of directions con tains a detailed account of this disease in all it* different stages, and will be accompanied ’ • ture of W. BUTLER, in JUd Dmggut W Jpotheeary, and Sok fir june 21 dloamdri*. # 7
