H. P- LEF., New London, Conn. Dec- 1821. _ ~H YGEIAHISDI. THE following testimonials of the superior efficacy of the HYGEIAN MEDICINES in the cure of our diseases, speak in a language which must carry conviction to the minds of the most skeptical:— Drown University, l»f-c.25, 18.1:1. To Mr. Samuel Young, Agent for the Hygeian Vege table Universal Medicines, for the State of llhode I Island. Sir—Gratitude to the Great Preserver of Men com pels me, in compliance with your request, to give a brief statement of a cure, which, I think, I received from the Hygeian Medicines. I give publicity to the 1 same the inure cheerfully, because thereby, perhaps, I may be useful to some of my felluw-men, who may ' be afflicted with a similar disease. Mv complaint was called Pulmonary Consumption, and that my real condition may be explicitly un ler stoo l, I state, in connexion with the relation of the ' cure, some of the symptoms of the disease. In Sep tember, 18V2, I caught a severe cold, which settled on my lungs; I was confined to my room about one week, w th a fever, attended with considerable cough; my cough soon abated, and apparently, I was regaining my health; when, after about three weeks, in the course ot the night, having returned the evening be fore in usual health. I found myself bleeding at the lungs. I had not, to my knowledge, received any hurt I or Strain, to which the cause of this might be attribut led. I spat blood, occasionally, for four days; it left : me with some fever, pain in the breast, very little ap petite, and withal, very weak A tew weeks determined that I was in a decline I I received the attention of the most skilful Physicians, | who often seemed to check the progress of the dis \ ease, and inspire the hope of a speedy recovery. But j reli[ise upon relapse, and each bringing me lower i than the preceding, seemed to baffle all human skill, , and warn me of an approaching* dissolution. Thus, i months after the first attack, a *• tubercle” [small ul ! cer] broke ill the lungs, after which I spat blood, one 1 day. I continued to decline tw omonths longer, when I obtained the Hygeian Medicines. I hail now been tillable to sit op a whole day, for four months and a i half. My feet were cold and lifde-*, sleep unsound, 1 cold night sweats constant, tongue furred, pulse in the afternoon from seventy-five t*> one hundred per mi* 1 mite, food produced great distress, appetite very poor, pain in the breast directly opposite the heart, attended with some cough, be. be. Such was my condition, when I first became acquainted with the llygeian Medicines I commenced taking the medi cines, four pills at a dy?e, and increased the dose dai ly, one up to the number of twelve- In about ten • lays, my appetite became good, and fo >d produced no distress, sleep soon became sound and refreshing, um! in about forty days the symptoms of the disease had nearly all disappeared I took the medicine sixty days regularly every mght, averaging about ten pills at a dose; the greatest num ber taken at any one time was fifteen. After this, l took about four doses a week, until I had taken about thirteen hundrt d pills, when 1 found myself restored to health. After l commenced the llyg ian, I took no other medicine. One year from the first attack, I w«s able to resume my studi s in college, where I have since remained without any recurrence of the disease Hitherto I have been convalescent; and if my strength is not yet fuMy r« turned, I am certain I have less pains, and am mure free from temporary sickness* than at any time since my earliest recollec tion. Yours, wnth reapect, HORACE T. LOVE. Dn II SiiBiujr.AtiD Moat. After udng a few, doses of No. 1 an 1 2, alternately, about eight pil*s for a dose, the pain decreased, and, by perseverance in their use, she is now restore*I to health; and I have no objection to this case being mule public for the benefit of others; and am, dear sir, yours truly, II DYER.
