Lor a description of th** qualities of these pills, he refers to the following advertisement of Doctor Ralph, viz: — “Th»* very general demand for Dr. Ralph’s Hv’geian Pills, can only be as : counted for by reason of the unexam pled benefit and cures which thousand! have experienced from their use. More over, thev are founded on the wisdom ! and experience of the British College of Phystui.uns and Surgeons, of London: and are recommended by the writings i and practice of Sir Astley Cooper, Mr. Abernethy, and Dr. Babington; as well a? by the greater p irt of the more eminent practitioners of England and th ' C*3rati* nent. The limits oi an advertisement will not allow of entering upon an explanation oftiie principle on which this medicine is suited to so many diff Tent complaint*.— It must suffice to mention, that each package ofthe pillscontains three boxes, two of which are gently opening, with a 1 strengthening quality combined, adapted to the most feeble constitutions; while the other is purgative, but m ire or less so ac cording to the dose. Thus, by varying these Pills, and altering the doses agree able to the directions given, it is aston ishing to witness the number of diseases which are cured or much alleviated by them, while there is no disease whatever 1 which can possibly he injured by their use. They contain no mercury, and may betaken without the inconveniences oi ! caution which other medichms genet al ly require. The particular diseases to which their efficacy has been proved and esto i,in m my thou# m i individual cases, are the following:— Dyspepsia, an I the whole of those nu merous maladies which arise from habitu al constipation of t he bowels; Apoplexy, and all affections ot the head; Gout; Rheumatism; Scrofula, with every spe.; ciesof Salt Rheum and Disorder of the Skin; threatening Consumptive Cough;! Liver Diseases, whether the effect of in tempei ance or hot climate: Fevei an 1 Ague; Common Fever, Ac.; Inflamm i tions; Cholera Morbus, Ac.; J-tun lice Dropsy; Piles; Gravel; t fleet, and certain j other complaints of the Urinary and Ge nital organs, Ac. A c. This medicine.is also eminently useful in the whole class ofdisorders peculiar to the female constitution, especially in Ner vous and Hysterical disorders. Epileptic 1 p,ts,St. Vitus’s Dance Ac. Ac.; Sick Head j Ache, certain obstructions, sexual weak ness, Ac. In smaller doses, it may he ' relied on as the best and safest medi cine in pregnancy, and for the common disorders ot children. j The directions given with these Pills are rom irkably plain an 1 particular the | proper dose and management ofthmn b?- j iug carefully mentioned under the head each i i so rd er se p a r a t e 1v. Jos. R\i-rn, M.D., Graduate of the University <d Edin- | burgh; Member of th** Rova! O-dlege of Surgeons liOndnn; Lecturer o i .
