Trouble at Prince Idw»rd’» Inland. Sir Alexander Bannerman has ordered the dissolution of the Assembly of hie Island gov ernment. The following account of the mat ter in a Halifax paper is evidently tinged with partizan feelings, bnt it conveys the principal facts:— “A short time since we announced that the “Liberal*' government of Prince Edward's Island had been defeated, and that a Conser vative government had taken its place.— The new administration, as soon as it ob tained power, sought to abolish the sys tem of government, and introduce that now in operation in the United States; to re move protective duties, and establish to a great extent one-sided tree trade; and to revise the election law, and introduce vote by ballot; but their course has called forth a petition to the Governor, signed by two-thirds of the elec tors iuthe Colony, tor a dissolution of the As sembly, with which his Excellency has com plied, against the a<Hice and consent of his Executive Council." The action of the Govcrnordias called out a large meeting atCharlottestown, which passed resolutions deuying his authority to dissolve the Assembly, anil declaring his action to be unconstitutional and anti-British, and deserv ing the highest censure. Ferocious Cu.l* On Friday last, about 1MJ o'clock in the forenoon, the wife of Mr, Charles Pratt, of this place, was very seriously injured by the family cat. Mrs. P. had sat down tor a few moments to converse with a neighbor, when the cat came into the open window, and im mediately jumped at her face, scratching her head, neck and arms in a most frightful manner. With some effort she shook the creature off, and had passed out into the yard, when it made a second attack upon her. She called for help, and Mr. Kichard Champiou, who happeued to be near came to her assistance with a large club, when the cat made its escape. Besides the frightful scratches upon the head and neck, there is a severe bite on the fleshy part of the arm, be low the elbow. A ductor was immediately called in, and everything done to guard against serious consequences from the wounds, and she is now doing as well as could be exj*eoted. The cat was the pet of the family, and was always very docile. It gave no previ ous signs of disorder, and was as tjuiet as ever in a short time after its attack upon Mrs. P.—aybrvok Mirror. Fraud In Northern Hay. Immense quantities of Northern liny are sold in this and other places in the South, and generally, we believe, soid by the weight marked on the bales, without reweighing. Circumstances induced us to have two bales weighed, which we had purchased in that way, and instead of til*) lbs., the aggregate marked weight of the two, the actual weight by the public scales, was but 524 lbs.—a loss of 82 lbs., equal to lb per cent. And besides this, there was upon the bales 40 lbs. of wood. One would think that Si 50 to $1 75 per 100 lbs. was price enough for hay, but by such frauds the buyer is made to pay from $2 to $2 25 per 100 lbs. This is a worse shave than the bags of corn, in which there ought to be, but are not, two bushels of grain. It is time such cheating was put a stop to, and we call attention to it in the hope that neither buyer nor seller in this market will hereafter pay the slightest attention to the Northern marks, but will see that every bale is reweighed at the public scales, or by some one else w'ho can be trusted.—Fayetteville (a: c.) A Reverend Profligate. The Winsboro’ (S. O.) Register says that it learns through a private, hut indisputable source, that the Rev. Dr. Win. T. Hamilton, of the Government street Presbyterian Church, Mobile, a clergyman who has gain ed great celebrity in many parts of the Cni on for his ability and eloquence, has been compelled to leave Mobile on account of cer tain disclosures having been made which showed that he has led for some time past a career of unbridled licentiousness and profli gacy, causing the ruin of several unsuspec ting females, taking the advantage of the confidence to which, as a minister of the Gospel, he was naturally entitled. The Re gister savs that he was forwarned by a num ber of citizens of Mobile, before Ins nefari ous deeds had become generally known, to leave the city by a certain time, which he did, or mob-violence would be done him. Disease among Horses. We learn that a disease is at present pre vailing among the horses of the city and neighborhood which is attended with great fatality. It is a species of fever, very violent . in all the usual symptoms of inflammatory attacks on the human system, and attacking all the principal vital organs, brain, lungs, and intestiues, See. Bleeding is said, thus far, tube the only treatment which has proved j successful in some cases. The loss to some stable keepers and others is reported to have l>ecn very large. We heard one represented to have lost forty horses by the disease.—X. j (). Picayune. MARRIED. In Washington City, on the *>th instant, by the Rev.
