His re marks were admirably suited to the occasion and to the tender minds of tho children, and were listened to with great attention. Bnnv For\o. ?The body of a drowned man was found on the shore of the Potomac river near Fort Washington, on Tuesday last, and a jury of inquest held over it. The jury rendered a verdict of accidental drowning. There \\a> found in the pockets on the de ceased the sum of sixteen dollars and one cent and a paper, indicating his name f?> be Joseph Kniley. Wheat. -The wheat on the farms in the vicinity of this city is looking remarkably well; the weather o| the past few days Inn ing had a most favorable effect upon it. On some of the (arms across Hunting Creek the wheat, is already more than knee-high. The farmers are highly delighted at the present prospect. "Cracker Ham,," containing about 205 acres, about three miles from this city, on the Mount Vernon Turnpike, was offered for sale at public auction on Saturday, and bid in at $-S per acre by Mr. CSeorge liar ton, of New Jersey.
