In a wmiia!)'< physical life there are many crit? ical periods ; times of change and transition ; of "crossing over" from one stage of de? velopment to another; from girlhood to wo? manhood, to wifthood, and motherhood ; and again when maternity ceases. [Correspondence of Alexandria Gazotte.] Bush Hill, Apl. 20?On Sunday morning last a large audieuce was pres? ent at the Eis'er service r?t Pohiek Episcopal Church and the rite of bap? tism wad administered to a Dumber u< children by the popular youog rectoi. R v. H. F. Kloman, who afterward de livered an appropriate Easter discoursr. Pbe vocal and instrumental music was exceptionally line, there being a num he.r of well trained voices. Miss Agnes Kloman played on the elegaut toned organ with her accustomed skill, [aside the chancel rail was what might l>e called a small sized conserva? tory in a rich profusion of lovely flow ers. The day itself was all that could have i-'-f.: desired and the many fair faces of this county were out in large numbers and these gave ao additional attraction. On Easter Monday evening Hearst Hall was well filled by the friends of Pohiek Church and the mite society as well, who all partook of the Dice sup? per prepared by the ladies. Very many seemed to he disappoiuted at the anon programme but this could not w( 11 be helped owing to the lateness of the hour. The social feature seems :o i>e the most interesting portion of these meetings from time to time. The following named entertained the large rtudience: Recitation, Miss Floreuce Williamson rendered graceful and easy; an Easter selection "Fair Lilies," by young lassies, the singing feature show? ing well trained voiceand wasencored; recitation "Maud Muller up to Date," Miss Mol?e Denty, was mirth pro? voking; cornet solo, by Mr. Bowdler, of Washington, D. O, with Mrs. B. ac? companying on the piano, who also sang a selection, both of whom received round after round of applause from the delighted audience; humorous reading by Rev. H. F. Kloman; a drill and marching song by six young lasses with Chinese parasols was gone through with exact precision. The appreciation of these was manifested in the usual way. The following named gentlemen have been elected as the vestry of Pohiek Episcopal church: A. C. Landstreet, Dr. N. B. Nevett, H. H. Dodge, John K. Neve t, John Landstreer, Jos Specht, W. R. Ward and Thomas F Chapman. Rev. B. A. Wallis, of the Theological Seminary, will onjuext Su?day evening it S (''clock preach the annual Ojii Fellow.-' sermon at Pobick church, and the following Dumed lodges will present in full regalia : Accotink Lodge No. 75; Crescent No. 33; Mt. Vision No. 159. These services will be of an inter? esting character. Miss Auna Williamson, who is eL gaged in teaching in Anacostia, D. C, spent Easter Sunday and Monday with her parents and friends and returned to the national capital to-day. Bliss May Hirst, of Evergrfen Furrn, near here, spent her Erster with h i cousin, Mr. E. H. Allen and wife. Something to Depend On. Mr. James Jones, of the drug firm of Jones A: Son, Cowden 111., in speaking Dr. King's New Discovery, says lhal last winter his wife was attacked with La Grippe, and her case grew so serious i imi physicians at Cowden and Pana could do nothing for her. It seemed to h velop into Hasty CoDriimption. Hav? ing Dr. King's New Discovery in store, and selling lo's of it, he took a bottle home, and to the surprise of all she be nan to get better from first dose, and naif do/'ii dollar bottles cured her sound and well. Dr. King's New Dis covery tor Consumntion, Coughs and Colds is guaranteed to do this good work. Try it. Free trial bottles at E. L. AI leu's Drug Store. Mrs A. luveen, residing at 750 Henry St., Alton, 111., suffered with sciatic rheumatism for over eight months. She doctored for it nearly the whole of this time, using various remedies re commended by friends, and was treated by the physicians, but received no re? lief. She then used one and a half bottles of Chamberlain's Pain Balm, which effected a complete cure. This is published at her request, as she wants others similarly alllicted to know what cured her.
