erday of plans of Viscount Ishii,' Die
Japanese Ambassador to the United
states, to leave here next month for
Tokyo, At the Japanese Embassy it
vas stated that the Ambassador was
returning for conferences wirh his
'overament.
State Department attaches were in
formed several weeks ago of Viscount
[shii plans, and ir. was stated today
that recent international developments
ivere not a factor. Also, it was stated
that there has been no su^esrion of
retirement of Viscount lshii except a?
political affairs in Japan may bear up
on his personal plans.
Viscount Ishii was named Ambassa
dor to the United States in February
1^18. He negotiated with Secretary
Lansing in November. l!)17, the new
agreement by which the United States
recognized Japan's special interest in
themselves to observ-i the open-door
policy and to hespect the territorial
'and political integrity of China.
An oy?ter produces -4 00,000 eggs
annually, but of these only 100 or
less reach maturity.
COAL FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
Bids for furnishing coal for the
city schools will be received by the
clerk of city school board up to 13
o'clock noon April :j0, 1910. Coal to
be delivered at the various school
houses within sixty days from date,
bids to be based on 2.000 pounds to
the ton. Two hundred tons R. O.
M. bituminous and twenty tons an
thracite will lie required.
The right to reject any and all
bids is reserved.
