trie House intervened yesterday to
nr^vent a personal collision between
Representatives Bianton and Hardy,
of Teiaa, both Democrats. Resenting
?.ho change by .Bbxnton ijiat /he was
"a mere ru!kber stamp" in the seh^e
that, he always defended the Admin
istration, Hardy rushed at his collea
gue, but was restrained.
The clash came during debate by
[Blantoo. on hir resolution calling up
on the Secretary of Labor for a re
port of expenses incurred by the de
partment in connection with John B.
Dejvrmfrre's investigation of ths
Mooney case at San Francisco. Bian

Secretary Wilson, who he said, h.

When Hardy took vigorous excep
tion to Blanton's reference to him.
Bianton retorted:
"Oh, well, the member is a gray
haired old man and I don't want t:
be abusive.''
Hardy immediately made a rush foi
Bianton, who disclaimed any at
tempt to be abusive.
Bianton^ resolution finally wa:
adopted, 07 to 14.

To Our Patrons
Alexandria, Va., .Tune 2, 1919.
In line with our progressive banking methods, and to meet the de
mands of our patrons, we are installing on July 1st. an up-to-date Safe
Deposit Department, under the personal supervision of one of our
officers.
This has been made necessary from the fact that a large number
of our depositors owning Liberty Bonds and other securities desire a
safe place for their keeping.
Tl is our plan to enlarge the number of Safe Deposit Poxes, and
make a rental charge to meet the operating expenses of this Depart
ment. This charge will become effective July 1st, 1919, and a bill will
he sent out at that time to the holders of boxes, and if any desire
to mnk? any change we will he glad to have them call before the
bills are rendered for the ensuing year.
