Clerk DRY WORKER ASSAULTED London, Nov. 14.?"Pussyfoot" Johnson, advance agent of the Anti-Saloon League in its invasion of Great Britain, got a warm wel come in London yesterday and had a narrow escape from a bath in the icy Thames. A group of students marching behind a banner inscinbed "We want beer and stout," ivaded Essex Hall, where Johnson and F. A. Mackezife were holding a delbate on "The Why and How of American Prohibition," under the auspices of .the Overseas Club and the Patriotic League. 'Despite the efforts of the police, the students made their way to the platform, seized Johnson and dragged him to the street. Some one suggested that if Johnson liked water so much it might be a good idea to give him a bath in the Thames and the suggestion was J cheered. He attempted to fi.srht! his captors, but was badly mauled j before he finally escaped.
