tion with the robbery of the Glasgow,
Va., bank early last Friday, upon re
fusal to take baths, aroused suspic
ions of jail attendants last night,
and a search of their persons result
ed in the finding of $1,200, the police
announced today.
Seven $100 bills were discovered j
in a bandage on Porter's abdomen, j
which, according t() the police, the j
prisoner claimed was placed there j
following a recent operation. An- i
other $100 bill was found sewed in ?
the lining of Porter'es vest, the po- '
lice said. They added that four $ 100 j
bills were discovered in Carter's uu- |
denvear.
This money, with $450 found on
the body of James B. Rogers, who j
was killed in a gur. fight with local |
