M UELLER'S PATENT CHAIN OVERSHOT THRASHERS, FEED CUTT ERS, ic. The above cut represents a single or one horse machine with the hands necessary to attend it. The subscribers lake Ibis method of in forming the public in general, that they have for some time been carrying on, in all their various branches, the manulactutc and sale of Wheeler's Patent Chain Horse Powers, together with Overshot Thrashers, Feed Cut ters, Revolving Horse Rakes, lite., in Light Street, Columbia co., and the town of North umberland, Northumberland co., Pa. Tlic Horse-Powers are strong arid durable, and very simple in their construction: run light, and ate not liable lo gel out of order.- With a slight ele vation, tho weight alone of the horse or horses drives the Thrasher with force and speed. They may also ho used for various other purposes, such a driving Circular Saws, Turning Lathes. Boring Machines, Grind- Stones. Churns, etc. etc. The Overshot Machines have several advantages over the machines now in use. The apton or feeding table is level, and of a proper height to allow the feeder lo stand erect, and feed evenly and easily without annoyance from du6l; sticks Bnd stone arc not liable to gel into the thrasher, and the grain is not scattered, but thrown dowi "V the separator. The two horso machine,' attended by from two lo three hpuds, will thrash Irom 100 to 150 bushels of wheat, or double the amount of oats per day. The one horse machine, at tended by two or three hands, will thrash from 50 to 75 bushels ol wheat, or double the amount of oats per day. The Feed- Cutler is a first rato article, and is very much used. It cuts fine and very fast; stalks are cut by it 3-8 of an inch long, at he rale of Worn 300 to 500 sheaves per day. The foregoing is a brief statement of the qualities and character of our machines.— There probably is a larger number ol Wheeler's Patent Powers made and sold fhan any other kind. We offer our ma chinos to the farming cotnmuni'y with full confidence In their merits, and invite all in terested to call and examine them before purchasing elsewhere. It is be cause they don't touch the cause of the dis ease. The cause of all ague and billious dis eases is the atmospheric poison called Mias ma or Malaria. Neutralize this poison by its NATURAL ANTIDOTE, and all diseases caused by it disappears at once. Rhodes' Fever and Ague Cure is this Antidrila lo Malaria, and moreover it is a perfectly harmless medicine. The certificate of the celebrated chemist, J. R. Chilton, of Now York, to this cfTect, is attached to every bottle; therefore if it does no good it cur. do no harm. This is more than can be said of Quinine, Arsenic, or any lonic in existence, as their use is ruinous to the constitution and brings on DUM B AGUE, which never allows a per son to feel perfectly well tor a single moment. In illustration of these truths I annex some extracts from a letter just received from a l'hvbician: Georgetown, Ohio, March 17, '56. JAS. A. RHODES, Esq.—Dear Sir: Yours ol 2d iust. is ai hand. The Cure arrived late last year and ths difficulty in getting any one to try it was greatly increased from the fact that a remedy had been introduced which was growing in favor with the public, as be ing bolter than using Quinine, —not knowing 1 presume thai the remedy they needed to escape taking Quinine, contuined tho DRUG ITSELF! This remedy, (kncw-i as "Smith's Tonic,") would invariably BREAK an agtto, but it did not CURE it, and it would often return with renewed vigor. The one circumstance I deemed in your favor, if I could institute a lest comparison between it and your CURE. The lollowing is the result: Three persons took your "Cure," all of which were esses of "Quotidian Intermit tent Fever," ol many weeks standing. They had tried Quinine, and other remedies, occa sionally missing n chill, but it was, (as in all such cases,; slowly wearing thorn out, and laying the Inundation of other and severer maladies. I did succeed in effecting a radi cal euro of all threb of these cases with your remedy, and they have not had a chill since. In all three of those eases the "Smith's Ton ic" had heen used, and would, as before sta ted, break the chill, but after a period or two had elapsed il would return. 1 think lime will he no difficulty now in giving to your "Cure" the vantage ground of any other remedy now in use here, &e. &c. WILLIAM ISUCKNER, M. D. RHODES' FEVER and AGUE CURE, or Antiilolc to Malaria, the only harmless reme dy in existence, is equally certain as a PRE VKNTTVE, as a "CURE." Take it when yon feel the chill coming on, and jou will never have a single one. JAMES A. RHODES, Proprietor. • Providence, U. I. For sale by Druggists generally. June 18, 1856. ' The iracticeof Dr. Hunter has long boen, and still is literally unbounded, but at (he ear nest solicitation of numerous persons, he hus been induced to extend the sphere of his pro fessional usefulness to the community at larga, through the medium of his "Mcdt ul Manual Hand-fJook for the Afllic'cd.'' j-J; H is a volume that should bo in tbo hand of every family in the land, whether used as a [.ret entive of Ferret v;cc, or sf g guide for the alleviation of one of the moaf awful and de structive scourges t)u visited upon mankind for the sins of sensuality and impurity of every kl d. It is n volume that has received the unquali fied recommendation of the first physicians in the land, while many clergymen, fathers, moth ore, | hilanthropists and humanitarians, have most freely extended its circulation in all quar ters where its powerful teachings would be like ly to bo instrumental in tho moral purification and phvsi'al healing of multitude! of our peo ple, ninong the ynuug, volatile and indiscreet, otherwise tho prido and flower of the nation. The authoi argues particularly, most strongly against every species of self-defilement, and warns parents and guatdians, in scotching terms, to gunid the young of both sexes from i the terriblo consequences concomitant of tbeir ignorance of phy'ologicol laws and sexual imd purities and irregularities, whether exbihilo ny precocious development or arising fiom the viscious and corrupting examples of their school, mates or otheiwise. To those who have lieo.i already ensnared to Ihe "paths that take hold on hell,'' a clear and explicit way is shown by which they muy secure a teturn of sound health and a regeneration of the soul from its terrible pollution. It is well known that thousanJs of victims are annually sacrificed at the shrtn of Quack ery —especially those auffoiing frotn Venereal or Syphilitic diseases—Strictures, Seminal Weak ness, Netvous Debility, and Ihe numerous mal adies which spring directly or less remotely from the indulgence of carnal pussious and se cret viohlions of Nature. In view of these facts, and when it is also considered that about 100,001) persons dioannu | ally in tho United Stales of Conoumplion—a ( large majority being tho victims of the voluput uus indiscretion "of their progenitors, agreeably lo the Scriptural enunciation, that the sins of tho parculs are visited upon tho children, even to tho third and fourth generation. PHILADELPHIA MEDICAL HOUSE— Established 20 years ago by Dr. XINKKLIN, corner of Third and Union streets, between Spruce and Pine, Philadelphia, Pa. INVALIDS Are apprised that Dr. KINKELIN confines his practice to a particular branch of medi cine, which engages hit individual attention. He cautions the unfortunate against the a buse of mercury; thousands are annually mercurialized out of life. Rocenl a fleet ions are piomplly extinguished. TWENTY YEARS'EXPERIENCE In the treatment of a class of diseases hilb erto neglected and imperfectly understood, has enabled Dr. KINKELIN, Author of • work on Self Preservation, to prove hat nine tenths of the causes of nervous debility, lo cal and constitutional weaknesajmenlal and physical suffering, are tracoabll to certain habits, forming the most secret yet deadly and fatal springe of domestiQ misery and premature mortality. TAKE PARTICULAR NOTICE, on evil habit sometimes indulged in by bgys in solitude, and which, if not re formed in due time, not only hegels serious obstacles to matrimonial happiness, but gives rise to a series of protracted, insidious, and devastating afflictions. Few ol those who give way to this pernicious practico are a ware ol the consequences, until they find the nervous aystem shattered, feel strange and unaccountable feelings, and vague fears in tbe mind. The unfortunate thus affeoted bocomes fee ble, is unable to labor with accustomed vig or, or to apply his mind to study; his step is tardy and weak, he is dull, irresolute, and engages in his sport with less energy than usual. If he emancif ato himself before the prac tice lias done its worst, and enter matrimony, his marriage is unfroiifnl, and hw sense tells him it)at tliig is caused by his early follies.— These are considerations which should itvt | ken the attention of those similarly situated. MARRIAGE Requires the fulfillment of several conditions in order that it may he really the cause jof mutual happiness. Could the veil which covers the origin of domestic wretchedness be raised, and its true source in every in stance disclosed —in how many could it b traced to physical disqualifications and their attendant disappointments! Apply then while it is yet time, in order to have yoor unstrung and relaxed organization rebraoed, revivified und strengthened. _ REMEMBER, He who places himself under Or. Kirikelln's treatment may religiously confide in his hon or as a genteman, and rely upon the assur ance, that the secrets of Dr. K's patients will never be disclosed. The only Safe which, in every instance*, preserved the entire contents at the late Extensive Fire s. AT THE BURNING OF THE ARTIZAN BUILDJNGS, Aptil 10th,and in thegreat fire in Market Street, May Ist, 1856, the gen uine HERRING SAFE preserved the Jewelry of George W. Simms & Bro.; Books, Papers &o. of Fisher & Bro. and Edward Semans & Co., after remaining exposed in the burning ruin* for nearly Forty Hours, and proving conclu sively what we have always claimed for them, their great superioiity over all securi ties known. In these fires, the HERRING'S SAFE, standing Bide by side with those advertised as "warranted to stand 10 per cent, more fire than Herring's," came forth the acknowledge' ed victor, not only preserving their contents in excellent order, but being themselves ia a condition to go through another ordeal, while the boasted "Salamanders" of othe) raakUrs were badly used op in every instfnee, and iu somecasostheir entire contents completely destroyed. To the public we would simply say, that, during the fourteen years of the Herring's Said has been before them, more than two hundred hnve passed through accidental fires without the occuirunce of a single loss. We would, therefore, caution purohasem against the misrepresentation of interested parlies.
