Alter the expiration of the charter of any k ik chartered by this State, or after tho termination of the existence of any such bank, agreeably to the laws of this State, such bank may causo notice to bo published in all tho week ly nowspapers of tho county whero such bank is located, for ono full year, setting forth that said bank will redeem its outstanding bills, tho day of the expiration of its charter or the date o't the termination of its existence, and a copy oi this act; and upon duo publication ot such no tice, neither such bank nor iU officers shall be liable to any action for tho non-redemption for any of its outstanding bills, unless the sanio shall have been duly presented and payment thereof demanded within the year aforesaid, at the banking house of said bank. After the expiration of the charter, or after tho termination of tho existence of any such bank, as aforesaid, such bank shall cease to be subject to tho oporation, or liable to the provisions of tho sixty-third section of chapter eighty-nine of tho general statutes.
