P. Falk made a business trip to Sanborn, Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Barnes left Friday to spend a few days at their cabin at Remer. Keene Ewart of Minneapolis is spending a two weeks vacation at the home of his father, L. R. Ewart. Mr. and Mrs. John Hyslop and fam ily of Fulda spent Monday here with the former’s sister, Mrs. T. E. Flinn, and family. Mr. and Mrs. George Henle and daughter of Morris and Mrs. Mary Bigot of Springfield were Sunday visitors here. Mrs. T. M. Tiffany and Mrs. Gladys Borey and daughter, Delores, of Min neapolis were weekend guests of Mrs. A. E. Laidlaw. Miss Feme Farnsworth who is at tending the University of Minnesota summer school spent the weekend and Monday at her home here. Clarence Klante and Hazel Nelson and Arnold Bernardy and Hazel Kramer applied for marriage licenses this week at the office f the Clerk of Court. Mr. and Mrs. John Schmid, Father Bruno Schmid, Father Geoffrey O’Sul livan, Louis Sommers and Harry Hoffman spent the Fourth of July at Mille Lacs. Miss Esther Waddams and Miss Letha Wayne of Ortonville and Vic tor Flury of Big Stone City, South Dakota, spent the weekend here as guests of Oyre Korte. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Skorseth return ed to their home at Canby, Wednes day after spending several days here with Mr. adn Mrs. Earl Peabody. Their nephew Quentin Barnes who had accompanied them here remained and will visit for some time at the Peabody home. Mr. and Mrs. John Fredrickson, Mrs. J. V. Budik and Miss Mary Vir ginia Taylor came here from Minne apolis Sunday morning and were guests of Dr. and Mrs. J. C. Budik. The latter remained to spend a few weeks at the Budik home and the rest of the party returned to their homes Monday. The following hearings will be held at the office of the Judge of Probate A. R. A. Clipfell and Mrs. Grant Martin went to Worthing ton both Monday and Saturday of last week as drivers for the group of young people from the Church of Christ who attended the Minn-la-Dak conference. The conferees were the Misses Bernice Huhnerkoch, Iris Robbins, Marjorie Martin, Mildred Barnum, Marie Britton, Mabel Mar shall and Dale Cherry and Junior Joneson, Mrs. Walter King, Mrs. Carol Lemmon and son Dale, Miss Lola Robbins and Miss Anderson. Rev. Joneson and family, also made the trip. There were 102 conferees in attendance. Redwood Falls won four of the trophies: first for having the biggest delegation that drove th§ greatest distance; Miss Iris Robbins won first for writing the best confer ence song; Dale Cherry and Junior Joneson won first for the best stunt, the boys impersonating Paderewski and Paganinni in a musical number. The group also sang as a delegation during concert night, and Junior Joneson played a cornet solo. Mr. and Mrs. Joneson were instructors in the conferqiice. It was counted one of the greatest weeks in the lives of those who were privileged to attend. Mrs. John Puff will entertain the German Lutheran Ladies Aid Friday afternoon. Dr. T. A. Macholda of Wauzeka, Wisconsin, spent the weekend with relatives here and at Bechyn. The English Lutheran Ladies Aid will hold its regular meeting in Ram sey park this (Thursday) afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. George Bauer and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bauer of Lucan were visitors here Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Dunlevy an nounce the birth of a daughter, Tuesday, July 5, at the Redwood Falls hospital. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Philbrick and son Blair and Mr. and Mrs. Scott Schoen spent Sunday and Monday at Green Lake. Mr. and Mrs. John Schmid went to Minneapolis Sunday to get Father Bruno Schmid who will spend the week here at his brother’s home. J. A. Baikie accompanied by Jimmie Flinn motored to Remer Friday where they joined the former’s family at the Baikie cabin. They returned Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Storts and son Earl went to Deer Creek, Saturday afternoon with a truck load of goods for Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Collins who have recently engaged in the grocery business there. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Phillips and daughter, Judith Ann, Miss Josephine Lutz and Richard Rollins of Minne apolis were guests at the home of Mrs. L. W. Hall from Saturday until Monday afternoon. The July meeting of the Country Mite Society of the Presbyterian church will be in the form of a pic nic to be held at the John Quessen berry home Wednesday, July 13. Din- I ner will be served at noon. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Paffrath and family and Mr. and Mrs. I. R. Rogers and family went to Green Lake and Diamond Lake, Sunday morning. The latter returned Sunday evening and the Paffrath family remained to spend the Fourth of July at their cot ; tage. Mrs. E. H. Bollum and son, Her bert, will go to Sebeka, Saturday where they will spend the next two weeks with Mrs. Bollum’s sister, Mrs. E. D. Lyman and family. Alice Ly man, who has been a guest at the Bollum home for some time will ac company them. Misses Irene and Helen Keefe and Eileen Farrell, Clarence and James Keefe, Richard Jueneman and Doug las Whyte motored to Minneapolis Saturday evening. Miss Helen Keefe remained at her home there and the rest of the party returned here Sun day afternoon. A reunion of former Marquette University students was held Mon day evening with Mr. and Mrs. Her bert Kolbet as hosts. The guests were Dr. Charles Kelley and Don Guan of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Miss Mar garet Erdlitz of Menominee, Michi gan, Dr. and Mrs. A. T. Lauterbach and Miss Ruth Farley of Milwaukee and Mrs. A. Schrichte (Lenore Kol bet) of Rushville, Indiana. Mrs. A. E. Laidlaw entertained a number of women at an informal gathering Saturday afternoon in hon or of her mother, Mrs. William Tiff any’s birthday which falls on July 4. The afternoon was spent in social conversation, recalling past exper iences and in singing old songs. A dainty luncheon was served at a long table decorated with old-fashioned pinks and sweet peas and small flags and centered by the birthday cake which held a candle for each guest. The guests, all women past eighty years were Mrs. J. Ferris, Mrs. Stella Thompson, Mrs. Mary Greene, Mrs. Orson Wells Mrs. William Field, Mi's. M. Denny, Mrs.. Epima Lee, Mxs. F, M. O’Hara, O. J. Sw*n, ' Mrs. Timm, Mrs. Baker, Mrs. E. N. Swan, Mrs. William Knapp and Mrs. Feavey. Miss Erma Sampson spent the weekend with friends at Alexandria. Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Beckstrand and family spent the Fourth of July at Green Lake. S. B. Nelson of Hector was a Fourth of July guest of Dr. and Mrs. 0. H. Johnson. Donald Laidlaw of Slayton spent the weekend and July Fourth with his mother, Mrs. A. E. Laidlaw. Morrissey Warner of Luverne spent the weekend and Monday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Warner. Misses Jean De Courcey and Mar ian Christensen of Lamberton are visiting their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Clark. Mr. and Mrs. T. O. Johnson and family returned Tuesday from Madi son, South Dakota, where thejfe had visited with relatives. Dr. Frank O’Donnell and Wyman Corbett of Minneapolis came Satur day night and visited at the latter’s home until Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. Max Kretchner and daughter, Verna, of St. Peter will come here to spend the weekend with Mrs. Oliver Leavens and family. Mrs. Effa Clipson and son John motored to Ortonville Sunday to spend their vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Sheldon and son, Wayne. Mr. and Mrs. John Colville teft Tuesday afternoon for a few dafas visit with Mr. and Mrs. William Parker at their cottage at Lake Koro nis. Misses La Vonne Cassell and Sadie McMahon have returned to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where they are employed after spending several days here at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Duea. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wright went to Green Lake Saturday evening where they were joined by their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Satterlee of Blue Earth. They returned here Monday. James Thompson of Ely visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. Ander son, Wednesday. Mr. Thompson is a graduate of the high school here and was a member of Company L during the World War. Dr. Charles Kelley and Don Guan of Aberdeen, South Dakota, ‘ accom panied by Miss Margaret Erdlitz of Menominee, Michigan, motored hete Saturday to visit with Dr. and Mrs. A. T. Lauterbach of Milwaukee, Wis consin, who were the guests of rela tives for several days. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Hardy and sons and Mr. and Mrs. George Mahal went to Green Lake to spend the weekend and Fourth of July at the Hardy cot tage. They were joined by Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Mahal and Mrs. J. H. Kaus, who motored there to spend July 4th. Mary Catherine and Alice Lauter bach entertained at a picnic dinner Tuesday in honor of their cousins, Mary Frances and Elaine Witte of Anoka who have been visiting rela tives here for the past two weeks. The guests included Caroline Fosnes, Dorothy Sampson, Marian and Jean Lauterbach. Miss Frances Oelinger and Louis Amberg of Bird Island were callers at the George Amberg home Tuesday evening. Ted Byram returned to Minneapo lis Wednesday after spending several days here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Byram. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Sheldrew of St. Paul spent the weekend here with the latter’s sister, Mrs. J. Albert Johnson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Stewart and Donald Jr. of Sioux Falls, South Da kota, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Campbell and family. Gilbert Corbett returned to Sioux City, lowa, Tuesday morning after spending a few days here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Corbett. W. R. Wingate motored to Minne apolis Wednesday morning accom panied by Mrs. Wingate and Miss Ruth Wingate who had spent several days here. Mr. and Mrs. George Amberg and daughters Lucille and Georgine, and Mr. and Mrs. Erick Loocks and fami ly spent the Fourth of July at Lake Kandiyohi. Mrs. H. W. Ward returned Tues day evening from Minneapolis where she had gone Saturday to visit her daughter, Miss Grace Ward, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Swisher left for their home in Minneapolis Wed nesday after spending several days with Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lorens at the home of Mrs. A. E. Laidlaw. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Smith and family and their guests, Dr. and Mrs. Allyn Moser of Omaha, left Saturday for Remer to spend several days at the Flinn cabin. Dr. and Mrs. A. T. Lauterbach left Tuesday morning for their home at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They were ac companied by Miss Margaret Erdlitz of Menominee, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Puff of Min neapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Puff of Danube, Mrs. William Knigge and children of Renville, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Puff who live near here were entertained at the John Puff home July 4th. Dr. and Mrs. J. W. Byram of Echo motored here to spend Sunday and with Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Byram, Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Byram and family, R. H. They were ac companied by Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schmahl of St. Paul who were the guests of Miss Zina Ackman. Donovan Daskam spent July 4th with friends at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Robert Campbell went to Minnea polis and Oak Terrace to spend the weekend with friends. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Robbins of Lin coln, Nebraska, are visiting with the latter’s mother, Mrs. Kate Tenney. J. R. Keefe returned Sunday morn ing from Chicago where he had been a delegate to the National Democratic convention. Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Byram were hosts to a group of eighteen friends at a picnic dinner Friday in Ramsey park in honor of Mrs. Byram’s birth day.
