Leo Paradis, who has served the community several years has resigned and with Mrs. Paradis and daughter Delores will leave early in January to make their home in southern California. New Year’s day the postoffice fixtures were moved into the Gehrke store. The Para dis family was honored at a par ty at the hall Monday evening. P. N. Haag and grandson, Bob bie Allen, came from Minneapolis and were guests of Mrs. Mary Haag Tuesday and Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Gehrke and family returned to New Ulm Wednesday after visiting rela tives here. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Benson and family visited at the Peter Paskewitz home near Seaforth Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Jensen and daughters of Milroy visited at the Milan Jensen home Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Schultz, Mrs. Wesley Schnieder and son Freddy and Mr. and Mrs. William Radtke and daughters of New Ulm were supper guests at the George Schmiesing home Tues day. Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Timm and family with Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Timm of Sanborn visited at the Virgil Lytle home in Wood Lake Sunday afternoon. Peck as director of the Minnesota agricul tural extension service and vice director of the Experiment Station and the appointment of P. E. Mill er, superintendent of the West Central School and Experiment Station, Morris, as his successor in the extension post, brings major changes in University of Minnesota personnel. Director Peck will leave his University post February 1, 1938, to become president of the St. Paul Federal Land Bank. He will succeed Roy A. Nelson, president since 1933, who resigned. The St. Paul bank is in the seventh Fed eral Land Bank district, which in cludes the states of Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota. When Director Peck leaves his present post, an association of 25 years with the University will be culminated. Miller home.
