They saw the Minnesota- Ohio game and attended other homecoming festivities at the university. Mrs. E. H. Johnson and Jo Ann visited at Echo, Thursday and Friday. Mrs. Florence Anderson of Preston, the houseguest of Mrs. 11. N. Nupson' was guest of honor at a bridge luncheon Monday when Mrs. Parker D. Sanders enter tained. The guest prize went to Mrs. Anderson and high honors werp won by Mrs. Nupson. A similar affair is being given to day by Mrs. B. P. Flinn and Mrs. M. P. Feigal. JUNIOR AUXILIARY FORMED Eleven daughters of Legion naires were in the group at the Legion hall, Thursday evening, who under the guidance of Mrs. Frank Baldwin and Mrs. J. C. Eudjk began the ‘organization of a junior Auxiliary. In the election of officers Jean Lauterbach was made president; Mary Katheryn Schoitenbauer, vice president; Patricia Baldwin, secretary and Shirley Mansfeldt, treasurer. They plan to have a doughnut sale in the near future to assist in the payment of national, state and dis trict dues and will co-operate with the senior auxiliary in its pro gram of activities. Other charter members are Margaret Dwyer, Jane Barnes, Harriet Lauterbach, Helen ar.d Janet Bakke, Jeanette Marguth and Joan Hillig. Meeting later in the evening, the Legion auxiliary heard re ports of a membership meeting at Tyler and of the work being done by the child welfare committee. Preliminary plans were made for the ar.nual Armistice day dinner and announcement was made of the fall conference next week in Sc. Paul. The organization plans to hold a food sale Saturday. WILLIAM NELSON RITES AT MORGAN Morgan—Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Wil liam Nelson, well known Morgan farmer, who died late last Wed nesday afternoon at Union hos pital, New Ulm, of diabetes from which he had suffered for 11 years. His wife was with him at the hospital during the three weeks of his last illness. Born January 20, 1885 at Peoria, Illinois, he moved with his family to Pocahontas, lowa. He married Ada Fischer of Havlock, lowa June 5, 1904 and they purchased the old Farquer Mcßae farm in 1915. Four sons and one daugh ter born to them survive, with Mrs. Nelson. They are Reynold a.t Butterfield, Glen at Mar.son, lowa, Dale in the army at Fort Snelling, Wayne on the home farm and Mrs. Clarence Ragan of Redwood Falls. There are four grandchildren, his aged father Chris Nelson at Bird Island, his brothers Charles of Morris, Henry cf Arnolds Park, lowa, two half brothers John of Bird Island arid Orin of Okoboji; two sisters, Mrs. William Schroeder and Velma Nelson,' Bird Island and a hall sister Mrs. Vincent Cook of Em metsberg, lowa. Rev. W. E. Broen had charge of services at the home and the Pres byterian church and Mrs. H. B. West, Mrs. I. W. Root and Mrs. W : . E. Broen sang several hymns accompanied by Mrs. J. A. Shank. Pall bearers were Arthur Cowell of Franklin, O. M. Gentry, Fred Potzler, Ed Rogers, J. A. Shank and W. A. Hartwick of Spring field. Burial was in the city ceme tery. A. S. Earl conducting the rites. Burial was beside her hus band, Mike Miller, who died 15 years ago. She leaves three daughters, Lea, Geneva and Verona, three sons, Richard, Ray and Gerald; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Miller of Min neapolis, Mrs. Lilly Walters of Morton, Mrs. Mary Bradish of Willow Bunch, Canada and a brother Albert Kumro, also of Morton. Mrs. Miller was a former resi dent here. Librarian Attends Tri-State Meetings Irene Hellsnd, Redwood Falls librarian, returned Monday from a tri-state library convention in Milwaukee. Ideas on extending library ser vice to rural communities were presented at the session, attended by Minnesota, Michigan and Wis consin librarians. Miss Helland went to Milwau kee last Wednesday with Roches ter and Red Wing delegates. Tracy Hunter Is Shot In The Head Tracy—Marvin Jones of Tracy is recovering from wounds in flicted. when shot in the head by a youthful hunter last week. Jones was knocked unconscious and rushed to a hospital. The shot from a shotgun perforated the upper part of his hunting cap. Four shots struck him in the face and the side of the head.
