Mr. Fessenden offered the following resolu-

The Resolution was then adopted by 78
to 67.
Mr. Pendleton offered the following, and
demanded the previous question on it pa

States be requested to inform the House if in
hts judgment not inconsistent with the public
interest, whether in any oath of allegiance or
narnle renuired to be taken br anv nerson now
or lately held in custody by the authorities of

Mr. Pendleton offered a resolution culling
