Shortly after their departure a number of rojws and other contrivances for escape, w ere found secreted iu tho bedding of some of the prisoners. They had, no doubt, made arrangements to lower themselves with the ropes from the third-story rooms, where they weie confined, to the ground, but being very closely watch id, did not succeed iu putting their plans into execu tion. We await the investigation. Democratic Mass Meeting at Dayton, Ohio September 17th, 1863. The undersigned, having been appointed Grand Marshal ou the occasion of tbe Demo- ratic Mass Meeting to be held at Dsyton, on Thursday, September 17, 1863, hereby announ ces the lollowing uppointinenta, order of pro cession, &c: ASSISTANT MARSHALS. Dr, Win. Kgry, Captain Wm. Pattern, Jas H. Cushing, Colonel D. G Fitch, Joseph Zwisler, Isaac Pollock, Uemy Kline, Major John P. Kline, George Wogamnn, F. B. Shall, Cnptain Daniel Kilnr, Theodore L. Smith, Fzra Thomas, Martin Bomberger and John A. Minick. The Grand Marshal will bo designated by a red sash, aud tho Assistant Marshals by blue sashes. The several Marshals of Township and oth er organized delegations will also act (ex-of-ficio) as Assistant Marshall, and are request ed to co-operate in the organization and Ron duct of the grand procession. They are re. quested to report to the Grand Marshal as soon as practicable. The formation and genorul order of mnrch will be as follows: 1st Kegimental Band. 2nd. Committee of reception and speakers in carriages, with an escort of mounted horse men. 3d. Organixed delegations on foot, 4th. Delegations in wagons and other ve hicles. 6lh. Delegations on horseback, four abreast All bands of music will remain at the head of the respective delegations to which thy belong. - Tbe several delegations will take their place in the procession according to the order of their arrival in the city, and the Assistant Marshals will see that their proper places are assigned them. The grand procession will form at 9 o'clock, A. M., on Main street, the right resting on First street, and the line of march will be as follows : Out First Street East to Sears Street; along Sears to Third Street; thence East on Third to Montgomery Street; along Montgomery to it ifth Street; thence West on Filth to Jeffer son Street; thence North on Jefferson to Third; West on Third to Main; and thence South on Main to the Louuty Fair Grounds, where the public spenking will take place. No wagons or other vehicles, except those co nt. lumg ladies, exclusively, will be per mitted to enter tbe Fair Grounds, After the arrival of the procession at the Fair Grounds, one half hour will bo set apart lor refreshments. At tbe firing of tbe cannon, the speaking will commence. No spirituous liquors allowed to be sold on tbe Fair Grounds. Jt is expected that each wagon will have a driver to take care of the team; and that the farmers will supply themselves with such pro. visions and forage as may be deemed by them necessary. It will readily occur to all that so large a demonstration cannot all be accommodated at the Hotels. We, therefore, request that the citizens of Dayton take their baskets filled with provisions to the Fair Grounds, and show by their generous and free hospitality, their appreciation of tbe occasiou that has called us together.
