Mabie & McGowan, of Alton, engaged in the cul-jthe tivation of sweet potatoes, publish an ac count of their profits during tlit? past season. They planted 12 acres of potatoes, the. ex penses of which, deliveied in market, were $'187.50. The total amount, of sales were 2,200; leaving $2,022.50 for net profits This rives an average, profit of $167.70 per acre.
