Ladies and Misses Eugenics, at ANDERSON'S. Tho lire Last " Night. At 9 o'clock last evening our town wa aroused by the burning of Col. Jno. Oyler's stable, standing w ithin a few feet of his large Tobacco Factory. The building was sll new and framed, aud the light llliimtuated the country for perhaps a mile. When reached, the flumes were beyond control, and It wa Impossible to do more than save the Fac tory. From the great heat, this was almost an Impossibility, but by the ut most heroin and united effort a It was done. At one time the work of empty ing tlin Factory was commenced aud partially executed. The projecting ga blo prevented the application of water from the top of the building, tho only way It could be reached. It wa ou Are, and at one time all hope seemed gone. The timely arrival of a number of "baud engines," or garden syringes, proved a god send, and by lining w et blanket as screens, persona were enabled to throw water under the projecting guide, aud thus the Factory was saved. Col. Oylrr w uk nliscnt, at Mcndntn, and be narrow ly escaped a great loss. The dunuigo will amount to several hundred dollars, and Is only partially covered by Insur ance. Cause of the lire unknown. Yon nierchaut, I am talking to. When yon don't see the farmer in town you may be sure lie's at work for you in the country. A dull town in April makes a rich coun try at Harvest. We have had a splendid week. The sun has been beating his furuaceg in the earth aud charging the clouds with electricity. The mountains have grown green under the touch of his magic brush. The wheat has hidden the ground Oats are up (is that correct, oats are). I'otatoes have pipped their earthen shell, corn is nearly planted, the young apples', pears aud cherries have taken shape, and they are countless. Beside ami beyond all this the Narrow Gauge It. K. is beginning to feel the in spiration, and is rapidly winding its ser pentine way between Bristol and Men dolu. I am authorized to say that all these being furnished, there will be a young gentleman or two there. Xow let us get up the electric light, and got Trof. Kinith and Mr. C. F. Hodges to photograph the scene, and then sell the photos. Wouldn't they sell? You know tho electric light enables one to take pictures much the same as daylight, lly-lhe-way, don't you suppose this ought to prove the identity of electric light and sunlight? 1 wish to patent this Idea for It originality. It will then follow that Instead of being a monstrous world, the sun is merely the central electric battery of the Solar System. All the waste curiam of this section of tbelullnito universe is being tossed by unused and uuuastlng forces Into that grand ceutre of all the electric currents of our system, and thus we are feeding the sun for Its grand duty of furnishing electric light to us "and the rest of man kind."
