Jacbson and family in honor of Mr. Jackson's "birthday. They all went with well-tilled dinner boxes. Those present were: William Wil- liams and family, Chas. Loges and family, and little Georgie Bundy, Mr. and Mrs. Cox, Sam Hlnch and family. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bernhart and daughter, Marie, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pernhart, Messrs. Miss Geo'gie Bundy went home with Miss Ethel Loges, Saturday af ternoon and staved over Sunday, go in back with her' when she returned to Hugbton for school Monday. 1 . Surprise Party A surprise party in honor of Geo. Buffingtod of Kifoxville, 11 ; son-in-law of Mrs. Elizabeth Litiiev gar, was given at the hotae of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. Tucker, Satur day, Sept. 1C. . The evening was spent in music, both vocal and instrumental. The v most enjoyed features 'of the everi were solos by Mr. Jim Shafer of Stevens county. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hammonlree spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. Cuthbert Dorman, Sunday Henry Ilarnmontree and wire were in Liberal Thursday with a load of mellons. Jacob Clawson came out with them to visit with them until Saturday. Charley ITammontree took a load of melons to town Saturday and Mr. Clawson returned to town with him. J. Land was In Liberal, Monday, with a load of broomcorn. Mrs. Henry BIglow was in Liberal Monday with broomcorn. . Several young folks spent Sunday evening at W. P. Dawses', plaj ln- croquet. Bro.
