There are several things back of this double track that the public are proba bly not as yet aware of. One is that the A. T. and 8.' F. company is building a road from Emporia, Kansas, to Ottawa, where it will connect with what is known as the Kans vs City, Lawrence aud Southern Railroad, and run to Waseca Junction, increasing the business of the road so much that a double track from the junction will be come a necessity. About four and a half miles west of Kansas City is the town sit of Argentine, but up to the present time no town of any dimensions has shown up. But now tbat the double truck is contemplated, corner lots have gone up, a large lead manufactory is about to be established, and things are on the boom. Normal Notea.
